Management team
David Thurston
Operations Manager
David joined the company in 2003 as a tiler and has developed a very broad technical knowledge that is well known in the area. David now manages the day to day running of the business alongside Julie. David is based at the trade centre and handles company HR, IT Systems, and day to day accounting.
Gerry Thurston
Managing Director
Gerry started off as a plasterer and tiler, before opening the Tile Centre in 1985. He is the person who visits customers’ homes to quote for tiling jobs and bathroom refits, and makes site visits during our installations. His genuine, honest approach and vast knowledge have made the company what it is today
Julie Thurston
Company Secretary
Julie has been part of the business since 1985, and oversees the financial side of the business, working alongside David and Lucy in the accounts office.
Julie has a very keen eye for detail and ensures the business always runs smoothly and without a hitch.
Sharon Thurston-woods
Showroom Manager
Sharon joined the company in 1997, later moving to the South Coast and gaining a wealth of experience in other bathroom showrooms. In 2012 she re-joined the company and now manages the showroom. Sharon enjoys using her vast bathroom & tile knowledge to help customers and design bathrooms.
Trade Centre and Warehouse Team

Trade Centre Advisor & Warehouse Team
Brian joined in 2021 after a long career in the bathroom industry. He trained as a plumber in 2004 and had a few years fitting bathrooms, before working at a plumbers merchants for over 10 years. This varied experience means he has built up excellent technical knowledge.
kieron thompson
Trade Centre & Warehouse Team
Kieron works in our warehouse and trade counter – checking incoming and outgoing deliveries, advising trade customers, delivering to customers and keeping our warehouse in good order.

Delivery Driver & Warehouse Team
Sam is new to the bathroom industry but is learning quickly. He delivers products to our customers, deals with goods in and goods out in our warehouse, and serves trade customers.

Sales Manager / Installation Co-ordinator
Debbie has been part of the furniture since we opened in 1985! Her huge depth of knowledge on tiles and bathrooms, along with her design skills and excellent customer service all help to ensure your project will run smoothly and look fantastic. Her aim is to make sure every customer leaves us happy.

Sales Advisor / Designer
Vicki joined us in 2014 with a background in retail and customer service. In this time she has developed a flair for bathroom design and an impressive product knowledge. She loves to keep her customers happy and always offers service with a smile.
rod carruthers
Sales Advisor / Designer
Rod has been with us since 2018 and brought with him a wealth of experience from previous jobs in the bathroom industry over 30 years. He offers friendly service, excellent product and technical knowledge, and will always go the extra mile to help.

Lucy joined us in 2018 and assists with the day to day paperwork and purchase ledger.
Hayley Mallet

Hayley has worked for us for over 15 years keeping the showroom looking spotless and handling all back-office filing and archiving.
